Monday was a long day, but after 20 hours of traveling we're finally back in the USA!! It was a very hectic morning - finalizing packing, fitting everything into the taxi, and getting to the airport in time only to realize that it was complete chaos due to many weather-related flight cancellations. Fortunately everything for us was on schedule, but we still had to wait a long time to check-in, and ended up having to buy another suitcase at the airport since most of our bags were overweight.
Once we were finally through security and on board the plane, we were able to convince the KLM flight attendants to give us an upgrade to business class. A fantastic way to return home in style!
The happy face of an upgrade :)
Coco's dreams of being a business class kitty finally came true. :)
where's my extra legroom? meow?
Our final farewell to Amsterdam...
one last take-off at Schiphol
And 12 hours later, Hello California!
We made it!
Coco was a trooper throughout the entire flight. In the end, all of our diaper-preparations proved to be unnecessary because she stayed dry the entire trip. She was quiet and slept through everything. (okay, i admit i slipped her a few treats here and there and couldn't resist petting her inside her bag)
From the airport we took a 30 minute ride to our hotel, where we'll be living for the next eight days until our apartment is ready. Along the drive we saw some interesting billboards - one for snapchat, another for artificial intelligence. And of course for our first meal we went to the Mexican restaurant next door for some fajitas. :) After a good night's sleep we'll be ready to explore the new digs!
Coco wasted no time in declaring the bed as her space.
