Thanksgiving has always been a very special holiday for us while we were living in Europe, and for the past three years Ryan and I introduced this American tradition to our European friends. First, we celebrated in 2012 with my women's football (soccer) club in Scheveningen, and then in 2013 and 2014 with our international circle of friends at our apartment in Amsterdam. I'm so thankful for those memories and will cherish them forever. Here's some photos from last year for nostalgia...
Can we start yet?

This year I'm thankful that we'll get to spend the holiday together with our "nearby" west coast family members in Arizona. And I mean "nearby" in American terms - it's still a two hour flight!
In preparation for the "real" Thanksgiving next week, we participated in our apartment's pre-Thanksgiving potluck on Tuesday night. They provided the turkey, ham, stuffing, and drinks, and the neighbors each brought a side dish and a toy gift to donate to the Toys for Tots charity. There were even two Marines there at the event to represent the charity and to collect the gifts for donation.
There was not one, but TWO turkeys!
Ham!
The best part - all the sides...yum. I made the green beans.
The happy couple with our pumpkin-spice beers!
Can't wait for round 2 next week in Arizona!!
We will miss you this year!!!
